Larisa Sterkhova - a new name

Some people decide that they want to paint and they choose a long way of learning, training and waiting for results too come. Just in my family I have an opposite case. My wife became an artist almost "over night". She started painting as a therapy and within two years her works were accepted into Royal Institute of Water Colour Painters at the Mall galleries in London, she got an award in Women in Watercolor International competition and second place in the Art&Color 365 magazine's competition, published in Artists Talk magazine and nominated for exhibiting at Fabriano Biennial at the Museo della Carta.

She uses mainly materials that we have at home - Daniel Smith paints and Saunders Waterford paper. Sometime she adds some gouache. It creates depth in diversity of transparent and opaque layers.

I personally love the combination of spontaneity and constructiveness in her works. It is a pure magic how it could be possible to obtain such a confident result with the intuitive approach.
