Yesterday Workshop Seascapes

Yesterday workshop in studio Mad Hare (St.Petersburg) was very fruitful. We painted 5 half-sheet works with participants. The topic was Seascapes. We took such subjects as yachts, piers, seagulls, sunsets, water reflections... Here are 3 of my demo works...

 1. Masking and some texture.

 2. Background wet-in-wet. Wet from behind too.

3. Painting in the figure on wet.

4. Removing the masking. Fixing with tape on sides to continue on dry.

 5. Defining the focal area.

6. Working through the whole painting. Texture and values.

7. Final definition.

My Stairway Series

Recently I came back to my Stairway series. I am fascinated by the incoming light rays slipping along the stairs, intriguing highlights on the stairs and lost edges. Perhaps there are more to come...
